I wish you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.

I'm studying Interaction Design/Game Design at the university of applied Science in Berlin since Octobre 2009.

I've just finished my first video game there. Thanks to :iconmarlo87: for the cooperation.
The game based on the Space Invaders-Mechanic but some things are different. For example the aliens fly not in formation. Instead they are programmed with the noise function on the x-coordinates, so you not really know in which direction they fly.Like in Space Invaders they fly slowly down the screen to the player's ship. Every fifth level its a boss level.
The title is "Espacio Banditos" and the aliens have sambreros and mustaches. I will post some of the pixel graphics soon.

Hi folks,
For a few days now we have a Xbox 360. That's so uber awesome.
Although it is still on a very small tv-machine, it's a lot of fun to play. I like the controllers much more than our others for playing games on a mac. They are easier to use, especially for Streetfighter IV.
Now I'm practising a lot to win against my boyfriend one day. He has much more training from older Streetfighter-versions. But I'm a fast-learner ;)
We've bought just two new games, one is Assasins Creed. It just arrived this morning. I'm really looking forward to play it.
I hadn't expect that it is so much fun.

After a long period of bad and boring subjects I've had a very interesting course in college about trends and the fashion market at the last two weekends. Our teacher was an editor-in-chief of the German fashion magazine "Achtung". He could tell us a lot about the business and its people. It's really good to have this contact to the market and "real life" while studying. Now I have a much better picture of the kind of work I'm going to do later.

The big highlight was the meeting with Michael Michalsky, former chief designer of adidas, who has now his own label in Berlin.  He told us his biography: He studied with a lot of luck design management in London, only because two other applicants suddenly didn't want to study there and he got the free place. It was very funny for me to hear that many design colleges said that he had not enough talent to study and now he is pretty successful in the fashion business as a designer.

He works with two teams of several designers, one for women's and one for men's fashion. I felt relief to hear that they draw a lot and not only work out their outfits by pattern making. So maybe its not so bad to work in a industrial campany like that. In Berlin many smaller companies don't make design drawings but that is exactly a big part of hat I would like to do.

This course was in many ways really refreshing. Many subjects/ courses, I have had during the last semesters, had really disappointed me, either because of the badly structured lessons, or because of uninteressting and unnecessary content. This one was worth attenting. Now I can see my goals more clearly.

Today starts my second semester in university. I`m really looking forward.
In the last one we`ve create an outfit and had to find a own cut and sew it  without someone who told us the best way to do so. I`ve learned a lot. That was the most interesting subject and I`ve already upload sketches from it: Geometry and Contrast. The finished outfit will come soon...

Yesterday I watched the movie "mirrormask" by Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman.

It's full of fantasy and art. Normaly I had expected nice pictures with a bad story but this movie surprised me. The story is told like a modern fairytale.
The main character is already a teenager, not a nerve-racking kid. She is halfway between a circus life and a normal life. She wants to have a normal life but her parents need her in the circus. When her mother becomes ill, she dreams of this inner conflict. In her dream she walks through the world of her drawings. Her reflected self-image is a girl who acts against her parents and destroys her drawings.
Now she has the responsibility to wake up the white queen (her mother) and to bring her bad reflected self-image back from the real world to the dream one....

The mood of the movie is really great. It's fantastic.
A very recommendable movie. Watch it!

Also have a look at Dave McKean's books, for example "Cages".

That's done! I've got the letter today.
I have passed the exam and I am accepted.

I`m gonna study fashion design and hopefully make my way! Starting in April 2007.

I am infinitely happy: living with my dream man in my dream city and studying my dream profession. Can't believe it yet!
